And I don't even know if McCarron will be a bust, I just know that Montreal has had quite a few first round busts with Timmins as head scout. More than acceptable.

At that rank you can draft a sureshot grinders or try to hit a homerun with a skilled guy that wen't under the radar

depends on your organizational depth but i prefer to go for the home run in the first round. even if he amounts to nothing i still have no issue with the swing they took on that pick. it's the picks like DLR that (frank)ing kill you.

yeah his recent record isn't sharp. Galchenyuk was a no brainer... Leblanc and Tinordi were catastrophes. Beaulieu so far is just OK. maybe still too early to tell on Sherbak but the early returns certainly are not good. hard to have tons of confidence in their drafting based on recent years for sure.

I think the skill and size is there with Scherbak. I think Timmins get alot of heat for the poop job the habs do at devellopement
